It is good to be back blogging again. After 3 months of being very sick, I am starting to feel a little better. Not great, but I will take every little baby step of progress I can get. I have had this Smash book by K&Company for quiet a while now. A couple of days ago I felt like I needed to be uplifted a little, I had a huge desire to do something creative, however I knew whatever I did needed to be simple and not require very much energy. Then I remembered my wonderful Smash Book that was sitting on my bookshelf collecting dust in my Art Room.
After grabbing a few supplies I set down to get a little creative. I thought that writing down a few inspirational quotes, along with some little doodles, washi tape, and some stickers would be just what the doctor ordered. I am so excited how my first two pages of my Smash Book turned out. Simple, yet really speaks to me at the moment. All of my quotes I wrote on my pages came from my "Quotes I Love" Pinterest page HERE.
What is a Smash Book? It is a book where you can quickly journal, sketch, scrapbook, make collages, paint, etc. It is is like taking three of my favorite hobbies and putting them all in one place. There are no rules. You can see more examples of Smash Books/Art Journals on my "Paper Crafts, Cardmaking, Journaling, and Scrapbooking" Pinterest page HERE.
Here are the materials I used to make this page:
- K&Company Smash Book with Turquoise binding on edge.
- K&Company Smash Special Occasions list pad.
- Stampin' Up! Classic Stampin' Spot Ink Pad - Pumpkin Pie (I used this on the edges and to add color throughout the page)
- Pick Your Plum Tag
- Miss Elizabeth's Stamp Alphabet Stickers
- Stampin' Up Stickers
- Elmer's Glue Glue-stick
- Scotch Washi Tape and Washi Tape from Pick Your Plum
- Paper Mate Ink Joy Colored Pens
I thought that I would share the love with you today, so I made a FREE printable for you using some of the quotes I hand wrote in my Smash Book. Simply click on the photo and then click "Save as" to save it to your computer. You can then print the "Inspirational Quotes" page, cut out your favorite quotes, and glue them into your own Smash Book or Art Journal. Please remember that the printable is for personal use only. Enjoy!
Are you into to Art Journaling or using Smash Books? I would love to check out your creations. Just leave a link to your blog/website in the comments section.
